The story behind Pish Posh painting studio started over a decade ago, in a first hobby club in Belgrade - Serbia, where a group of enthusiasts gathered to play tabletop games. Miniatures of the characters and items needed to play were hard to obtain and players had to paint these by themselves.

In this DYI setting, it became obvious that some were better at painting miniatures than others, as this required not just a considerable amount of skill and a lot of patience, but also a specific aesthetic approach.

The guys that are today known as Pish Posh painting studio, met in that hobby club. They were painting their own armies for fun as they were enthusiast players themselves. There was a special synergy between them that manifested in the ease of how they worked together and the originality and quality of the characters they painted. Other players noticed this, and small commissions from friends started coming in, so the guys were spending most of their days painting in the club.

But as more and more orders started to come in, it became increasingly difficult to work in the club. They faced problems and distractions like: sharing two tables of club’s crafting space with a team that makes cosplay costumes, people touching miniatures and equipment and too many people going around to stay focused. And this made the guys start to dream of their own working space.

This dream became a reality when a friend told them about a vacant studio nearby. The place was a jackpot, as the building that houses it was a home to many alternative music and art studios that were run by their friends.

Finally free to create in their own space and on their own terms, the guys were at their most creative streak and immediately started working on big commissions for a foreign client.

The only thing missing was a name. Something catchy and easy that reflects what they do and who they are as a team. And “Pish Posh”, the old British slang meaning tip-top or perfectly done, came as a natural choice.

With their own working space, a perfect name, support of their friends and over a decade of experience with a growing client list, Pish Posh Painting Studio is now the first professional, miniature painting studio in Serbia.
